Sue
Several different titles have been given to Sue over the last 33 years in the Electronics industry….Two of the most memorable being ‘’ Attila the Hen’ and the’oldest women in electronics’! She started off in this industry working for General Instrument Microelectronics Ltd (now known as Microchip Technology) and then changed direction to distribution and started with Polar Electronics PLC in 1983.During the 19 years she was with Polar she held several different positions and was instrumental in the setting up of Polar Ireland and Polar North. In 2001, Sue left Abacus Polar to join a broker where she set up the OEM division of Merefield’s Electronics Ltd. Seven years later (2008) having gained experience of working within the manufacturing section, franchised distribution and brokering she felt she had gained sufficient experience to give the customers exactly what they wanted which is Cantium’s 3D approach to distribution.

I have worked within the electronics industry for the best (or worst, depending on your viewpoint), part of 20 years. I worked in Purchasing and then Marketing at Polar Electronics, which was taken over by Abacus and subsequently taken over again by Avnet. I have now metamorphasised into a ‘front liner’ where previously I was one of the ‘backroom’ workers, which means that part numbers are now starting to mean something (finally)!
